We have spent a great deal of time finding the right partners to work with where we can really make a positive difference to their employees’ lives while, at the same time, producing a collection that will excite buyers long before they know the products’ heritage.”

Each design has a name to suit its personality, Electric Disco, Electric To Die For & Electric Fantasy are just some of the personalities in the collection. The striking palette of 14 colours ranges from the brights, the Hot Pink, Scarlet & Electric Blue to the subtler tones of Antique White, Camel & Hot Chocolate, ensuring there is a colour for every mood. Most of the collection is designed in house, in the UK by Joanne, the founder of Makki.  Makki is very committed to their Eco Policy and the ethical way in which they work and trade is of the utmost importance to the brand.

A combination of the sumptuous Eel Skin, the striking palette of colours and the on trend designs achieved Makki the accolade of Fashion Product of 2009. After a successful 5 years in the fashion industry, we hope you love the collection as much as we do!

Eco Fashion Policy

Makki has an eco fashion policy and the ethical way in which they work can be seen in every aspect of their business. The Eel skin is a by product of the food industry. The Eels are not farmed for the fashion industry & the skins would other wise be discarded. Makki boasts a very close relationship with their supplier’s, does not negotiate on their supplier’s price, uses the world’s finest grade of eel skin & consistently pays fairly & upfront.

Makki recently visited the family run business of their suppliers and experienced the wonderful way their designs are hand made and hand dyed. Makki is also aware of the way they impact on the environment. They aim to use acid free tissue paper & use recycled boxes for their orders without compromising on the beautiful way orders are received.

Striking Electric Collection

Makki’s Collection, inspired by the chic of 2009 & tinged with the Neon of the 80’s, won the accolade of Fashion Product of 2009.

With the attention grabbing names, the Electric Fantasy, Electric Avenue & Electric To Die For & a striking palette of on trend colours, this really is a collection To Die For!

Makki uses the world’s finest grade of Eel Skin, which although feeling so much softer is approximately 3 times stronger than cow hide. The skin becomes softer & softer with use, giving the designs a vintage feel; they really do get better with age.

Each Makki piece arrives beautifully packaged in a Silk embroidered Black & Hot Pink ‘Makki..With Love’ Dust bag to ensure your designs can be lovingly cared for. The infamous collection, now extending to a mens range after realising girls were having all the fun, has given men the opportunity to experience Makki’s Eel Skin designs, which includes a wallet (delivered with a hand made FSC certified wooden box, made in house in the UK) and a Laptop size Courier Bag.

I Love Clutch Bags

Visit I Love Clutch Bags - Use UK introduces I Love Clutch Bags - dedicated to bringing one off, individually designed, and hand made clutch bags to the fashionista with a conscience.

Use UK

Use UK, the design team behind I Love Clutch Bags have been designing and making eco accessories since 2005. At the forefront of the ‘slow fashion’ movement - a reaction against the disposable fashion that has dominated the high street in recent years, they believe consumers are now looking for quality craftsmanship, fair trade materials and fashion not just 'made to last' but ideally 'made in Britain’. Use UK’s handmade eco leather bags are made using leather sourced from the furniture industry and otherwise destined for landfill or leather responsibly sourced from a supplier promoting sustainable and appropriate environmental business practices within the leather industry and following guidelines set out by the Carbon Trust.

Their eco designs have been feted in press everywhere from Time Out to Grazia and Elle. The success of their desirable eco clutch bags resulted in the creation of www.iloveclutchbags.co.uk to showcase their one off and limited edition leather clutch bags.

Made With Love

Handmade with love and designed to be classic pieces, the clutch bags are sumptuously soft, accessorised with carefully sourced vintage buckles and vintage buttons, mostly from 1930s and 1940s and are lined with silk in an array of colours.

All individually designed and hand made in UK, there is rarely more than one of any clutch bag, so style lovers can rest assured that they are getting an original piece.

Luxury Bespoke

Solve the problem of finding the perfect beautiful bag with I Love Clutch Bags bespoke handbag service. We offer the luxury of having a bag especially made for you, to fit the occasion and your taste exactly. We've searched high and low to find our fabulous collection of vintage buckles and buttons and stock over 15 different colours of silk, or maybe you already have a set of exquisite buttons that you would like us to use to make you a truly unique and personal bespoke clutch bag.

Kaija NY

Visit Kaija New York - KAIJA, pronouced 'kah-yah' like the Filipino word 'kaya' which means 'able' is the brand of bags conceptualized and designed by Khrisna Justo. The bags are exquisitely handcrafted from organic, natural and eco-friendly materials and boast of a sophisticated global style.

About the Designer

It was fortuitous timing in 2006 during a visit to her home country in the Philippines that, Khrisna Justo, then a New York based general manager for a prestigious health club, had what now seems a providential encounter with an artisan woman weaving fibers by the beach front in Boracay.

Amazed by the womans's hand-weaving dexterity and fascinated by the vibrant colors of the fibers, Khrisna engaged in a dialogue with her, discovering that weaving was a major source of income for many woman in the country.

With her sense of New York style, a head for business and a heart for empowering woman and reaching communities, Khrisna took it upon herself to translate the natural, indigenous fibers from the buri palm into bag designs with a cosmopolitan flair. From there, Khrisna ventured into bag designs that "let nature take its course" both literally and figuratively.

The Brand

Kaija Handbags make a great green fashion statement for eco-conscious fashionistas. The reasonable price, the unique designs, the natural and organic material used, the fact that the materials used are handmade, the owner's story and last but not least the charitable aspect of socially and economically empowering impoverished women in the Philippines.

In an effort to work for a cause, Kaija has made it the eco friendly bag brand's primary goal to provide stable employment and new opportunities for underprivileged women. It also pledges to continue donating a percentage of its earnings to Non-profit organizations.

The Collections

What Khrisna has come up with so far is remarkable and stylish for every fashionista. Standout favorites are the Safari Collection and her Classic Collection. But there is variety to choose from in each of her collections. Equally, one close to home is the Montauk Collection with its vibrant colors and island feel. These truly exemplify what an eco-friendly bag can be all about using other handcrafted woods and vines as part of the ornamental feel of the bags.

Last but not least is the Limited Collection in which Khrisna continues to develop her skill as a designer and looks to have fun doing so. Experience Kaija for yourself.
