About Mimimyne

Mimimyne was set up by Tabitha Potts, a mother of two who wanted to bring the best UK green design for children to families in the UK. Everything sold by Mimimyne is either Fair Trade, recycled, recyclable, certified organic, made from renewable resources (eg FSC approved) or hand-made in the UK. Mimimyne encourages small, up-and-coming designers as well as more established names in green design. Mimimyne is a member of Ethical Junction (which independently audits its members) and offsets carbon emissions through ClimateCare. Mimimyne also supports a local green charity (Spitalfields City Farm) and has a full environmental policy which is constantly reviewed.

Their fashion led baby and children's clothing collections are beautifully designed and beautifully natural and have a wide range of quality designed designer baby clothing for ages 0-5 years in many gorgeous colours and styles.

ABOUT US

Bamboo Baby was founded in 2006 by sisters Sophie and Chloe Tostevin as response to the problem of finding contemporary, design led baby and children’s wear that has a minimum impact on the environment. The company started with a small range of organic baby care products and nappies and cloth nappies before expanding the range to include baby clothes designed by Sophie. The first baby clothes sold on Bamboo Baby were designed as part of Sophie’s final year project for her fashion degree at Kingston University. The organic children clothing range has now expanded and includes denim, underwear, blankets, coats plus baby essentials like vests and bodysuits.

Our Fabrics

Bamboo is the most sustainable all-natural plant fibre on earth with amazing silky softness! Bamboo fabric is organic, sustainable and super eco-friendly whilst being gorgeously soft. The bamboo yarn we buy is Oeko-Tex 100 certified and our organic cotton is certified by SKAL/GOTS. We are passionate about our work and by using organic bamboo clothing, we are also helping to save the environment.

Bamboo can be continuously re-harvested every 3 years with no damage to the surrounding environment. This regular harvesting is actually of benefit to the health of the bamboo plant.

Also, during its regeneration, the bamboo plants root system remains intact preventing soil erosion where it is utilised. These anti-erosion properties are key to the bamboo's reputation as a useful soil conservation tool. The lack of erosion creates an effective watershed, stitching the soil together along fragile river banks, deforested areas, and in places prone to earthquakes and mud slides.

All are beautifully designed and made of high quality materials allowing us to make and supply stunning bamboo clothing to enhance your own collections.

Our clothing comes in 0-3, 3-6, 6-12, 12-18 and 18-24 months and 2-3 & 4-5 years.

Visit Arabella Miller - Arabella Miller's funky designs for babies and small children are Soil Association certificatied, meaning their organic cotton clothes can be traced right back to the field where the cotton was picked. They have also ensured that the ink in their unique designs is also certified organic by the Soil Association.

Visit Belle & Dean - An organic clothing range for babies and toddlers, beautifully hand illustrated by designer Issy, and have all been ethically made, from the farms where their cotton is grown, to the workshop where their cotton fabric is cut and sewn.

Visit Dam Tam - Whether you're looking for green gifts for newborn babies, or comfy, durable clothing for busy toddlers, you'll find them at Dam Tam. This label offers organic and fair trade children and baby clothes in cheerful colours, at affordable prices, made from organic cotton, bamboo as well as biodynamic wool.

Visit Focoloco - This childrenswear label offers funky, colorful designs that celebrate the whimsical, slightly naughty nature of children. They print their designs on only the best garments, manufactured by American Apparel, a sweatshop-free company with excellent environmental and employment policies.

Visit Frugi - Frugi's stylish clothes for babies, little boys and girls (up to age 6) are all made from beautifully knitted and woven organic cotton. Its parent founders also are practical, as each style comes in every shape and size, "from beautiful podgy puddings to skinny minnies!"
